Family Pictures

We did family pictures just after Lincoln turned 7 months. I am not really the type of person that gets family pictures every year (or more) but we needed some updated pictures of Lincoln since we haven't really had any since he was born (and the grandmas need something to frame) and we haven't had any since our wedding (3 years ago).

It is so great having talented friends. We really lucked out. Marlena took these pictures of us up little cottonwood canyon. I am so thankful to her and will treasure these forever. The grandmas will too, i'm sure.

Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day was great this year. The weather was PERFECT. We started with breakfast at home and a couple errands. Then we went to my parents and helped paint the upstairs of their house. We had worked on the fireplace last week and so we just got to work on the walls because everyone was off work. Chase is quite the painter.

Then we went to Butlerville Days like we usually do. The place was such a mess because of all the construction going on but it was still fun. We had a fun day with family and friends and its always fun when Chase has a day off work.

The Fourth of July

This year the fourth was awesome! It is usually one of my favorite holidays and most fun days of the year. It maybe would be my favorite holiday if it was 75 degrees instead of 105 degrees.

This year I decided that instead of just watching the granite parade like I have done for most of the past 6 or 7 years, I would jump at my first chance to have a family member participate. I decorated Lincoln's wagon and we did some practice wagon rides in preparation. Lincoln had a nap while we ate breakfast at the stake center because he usually sleeps till noon and he had to be up by 7:30. The plan was to have Chase pull him but it was pretty difficult to throw candy and pull a wagon so we all ended up in the parade. Lincoln was a huge hit. Everyone one kept saying, "look at the baby! That is so cute." He loved looking around and being part of the action.

After the breakfast and parade we went to Chases parents house for the AC (they were out of town). We ended up playing a new super fun game called Munchkin. Then we headed to the Hubbard's for a BBQ and played more Munchkin and some of us had naps.

We finally made it to Murray park at about 5:30. It is so nice for Marlena's family to welcome us every year to their spot on the hill. It was HOT. Link did not like the heat. But it cooled down at about 7 and we all just hung around. We ate Popeyes chicken which was delicious and so so so nice of Marlena's mom, Laura, to get for everyone. We had watermelon and tons of treats and it was really fun.

Lincoln LOVED the fire works. He watched  them for so long. The show lasted 45 minutes and by the end he was getting bored. It was one of the cutest things to watch him watch them. I guess that's how a lot of things are now. Watching him live and grow is just awesome.
