Lincoln: Eleven Months

My baby can walk! Right around the middle of the month at about 10 1/2 months, Lincoln took his first steps. It was right before David left on his mission which made him so happy to be able to see that milestone before he left. He now can go for 10 or 12 steps before he decides he needs to crawl to get there faster. He is very proud of himself and always claps for himself. 

He now sleeps through the night in his own bed in his own room from about 10:30 pm - 9:30 am. I still miss him every night and have to have Chase put him down for bed because I just hate to leave him. He usually only cries for a couple minutes. I only nurse him once a day before he goes to bed as of a week ago and let me tell you, it has been hard. I was bursting at the seams with milk for 3 days but then it finally cut back and has been fine since. But it breaks my heart when I see Link look at me with the "why mom? Why won’t you let me nurse?" look on his face, he just LOVES nursing. But I know it’s time to cut back. He has started eating more and more real food each day. His favorites right now are canned fruit (peaches and mandarin oranges mostly), peas, yogurt, potatoes, and anything from a straw.

He makes so many cute noises with his tongue and clicks all the time. He says hi, baba, mama, mom, dada, dad, and loves to blow raspberries and bubbles. He loves to be inside the fridge. He will sprint across the room if he sees it open and gets terribly offended if you close it before he gets there.
Link is right around 24 pounds and his hair is getting thicker and longer. He has the most beautiful blue eyes. He is a real lady killer too. We still clog the check stand everywhere we go because everyone has to come say how cute and happy he is.

Lincoln loves when I wear a scarf cause that means we can play peek a boo all day. He likes to put it over his own head and then pull it off to see what kind of reaction he gets. I think it’s so cute that he knows how to play.  We love him so much and are so proud of him. It has been such a crazy month with two trips to California and Chase doing interviews and taking the GMAT (he got a 700 btw!!! yesss!) We have so much to be grateful for! I can’t believe my baby is going to be 1 year old next month!!!

Elder Petersen

David left on his mission last Wednesday. We miss him so much but are so proud of him! He is already doing great and writing us letters in Tagalog. He is in a threesome and is senior companion. He really likes his companions and says the food is pretty good. We are already feeling the blessings of his service and are so happy for him!

Southern California

Disneyland

12. Take my family to Disneyland.

We have been planning this trip for a year and a half! I am so glad if actually happened and so sad it's over. We had so much fun! We were able to do three days park hopping at disneyland and one day of sight seeing Southern California. We got to see where I grew up and the LA temple and we got to go to the Santa Monica pier. I had a blast and hope everyone else did too. I know Link loved being with his honorary Uncles Steen and Trent and Aunt Marlena. Thanks for helping so much with the baby guys! Also anyone who is nevous about going to disneyland with a less than one year old, don't be. Rider swap is awesome and Link really did have fun. He may not remember it but he had fun while it was happening. There wasn't ever a time were I regreted bringing him or going at this age and there was never a time where I couldn't do something I wanted to do. (But that might just be because I have awesome friends who helped me out so much!)

Parade! We didn't plan on watching this parade but we were waiting for the boys to ride tower of terror (for the 10th time) and we happened to be sitting along the parade route. I'm glad because it ending up being one of the best things for the baby. He LOVED watching the parade.

Lincoln LOVED the characters. Another thing I didn't really plan on doing because  ever since they started making you wait in line to see them I felt like it was a waste of time. But Lincoln loved then so then it became a good use of time! And when you go for three days you can say "I will pass on the long line and catch them later if I can" and we usually did find them later with only a couple minute line.

Mammoth and Lake Tahoe

We planned a family trip for Yosemite (again) because we love it so much. We only have a small window of time because the road doesn't open until late May and by then the summer jobs take over. So we really can only go between September and October before the road closes again in November. Well we picked the wrong week. Due to the government shut down we couldn't go to Yosemite. We thought it would open soon so we drove west to California hoping out trip into the park would just be delayed. We spent two nights in Mammoth and then lost hope. We drove up to Lake Tahoe for one night and then went home. It wasn't a total let down though because we did get to see some very beautiful country and visit two new places I've never been. Here is some pictures:
