Lincoln: Seven Months

Lincoln is getting to be so fun. He has quite the personality. Everyone says, "is he just happy all the time?" and I have to say, "yes, he is." He really is always smiling and laughing. He is a pro at sitting up and hardly ever falls back. He has started intentionally falling forward and landing on hands and knees position. He can sit there on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. He really wants to be able to crawl but so far he just moves his knees a little and face plants. You gotta work those arms too, buddy. He loves to stand at the edge of a table or on the back of the bench at church. The only problem with that is he gets so excited he starts jumping and i am afraid he is going to hit his face!

We weighed him last week and he was 21 pounds so that's at least another pound and a half from last month. I really thought he would slow down a little but he just keeps growing like a weed. He is wearing all 12 month and up clothes. I have a bunch of fall/winter clothes that I though he would be wearing this fall but he definitely won't fit in them.

He loves to eat eggs. Scrambled eggs with a little milk to make them a little softer. He likes any of the Gerber Graduate things like the fruit or veggie puffs of the yogurt melts. He just wants big kid food and not so much baby food. Which is nice because I just pretty much feed him a little of whatever I am having. Yesterday he had some potato, some bread, and chewed on a celery stick, all from my plate. (maybe this will help me eat less too! awesome!) He loves to sit up in his high chair and be part of the group. He also eats quite a bit of Cup O Sno, which he loves.

He says GaGa, BaBa, DaDa, Ohh Ohh Ohh, and spits/raspberry in any way you can think off. Through his lips, with his tongue, on your arm, he thinks  it's his best joke. And it is. He gets me laughing all the time. He also will raise his arms and make an H sound like hi whenever you wave and say hi to him. So I'd say that's learning to wave.

He is such a joy. We love him so much. He is just perfection.

Father's Day

Chase wanted to take a nap for Father's Day. So that's what he did.

We spent the morning and breakfast with Chase's Dad. Link had fun playing with his grandparents and showing off all his tricks. 

Then we went to church and I helped my mom make the Father's Day nursery craft . We made one for Lincoln to give to Chase too. 

We had dinner at my parents and hung out with my Dad. The twins were there so Link had fun playing with them. 

I hope Chase knows how grateful Lincoln and I are for him. He is the best dad ever and such a great husband and friend to me. I know I wouldn't make it through this unpredictable life with out him. He always does his best for us. We love you Chase!

Also. Lincoln LOVES scrambled eggs.

Congratulations David!

David, my brother, graduated from good old Brighton High School this week. He is really smart so he had lots of stars next to his name in the program.

He is accepted to the University of Utah and BYU but has chosen to serve his mission as soon as possible which means he can put his papers in at the end of this month. Freaky. 

He is going to be awesome at life and I am glad I have him as a brother and even more glad Lincoln has him as an uncle.

Lincoln liked checking out those girls. He is so patriotic.

Getting Big

Well I am just so proud of my baby that I want to let the world know about everything little awesome thing he does. So sue me. 

This week Lincoln has really started sitting up. He is so happy about this because he is so ready to be a big kid. He loves to be able to be up and playing instead of just laying there. 

Chase learned about genealogy at stake conference and said that I am in charge of it through blogging. So maybe this isn't the most interesting thing you could be reading right now, but just give it a few generations. This will be awesome for someone to read about their great-great grandpa learning to sit up. 

Now for the cuteness: 

Lincoln: Six Months Old

We went to the doctor for Lincoln's six month wellness check up. He did awesome, as usual. This time the doctor called him a "champion." I agree. Most people do. He also said I get bonus points for his perfectly shaped head. Thank you. Link had three more shots and hardly cried at all. By the time the band aids are on he is smiling again.

He weighed 19 pounds 9 ounces (85%) and 27 inches long (72%). I am so proud of my big boy! He loves to stand up if you hold his hands and is getting better at sitting up everyday. He tucks his legs under his butt to try and crawl forward and he scoots around that way. He rolls all over and he turns in circles on his tummy. He likes to turn to all the stations in his bouncer and loves to jump up and down in it. He loves to play with his feet and he is always thinking of ways he can get a hold on everything around him.

Link loves to say "baba" (which is what my sister has nicknamed herself) and "dada" (which makes Chase really proud). He loves to blow raspberries with his mouth or on his arm or on any skin he can find. He does an Indian sound with his mouth to his hand and turns his head back and forth. He also makes a clicking sound with his tongue and we talk back and forth in clicks. He also likes to gurgle if he is laying on his back and he thinks that's really funny. He is getting smart and is understanding that he can make people laugh. He will blow a raspberry on my arm, look at me and wait for me to laugh, then he will start laughing, and then do it all again on repeat.

He still likes vegetables more than fruits and loves to eat tables foods like grains of rice or pieces of bread or pasta. Link loves the graduate fruit puff things. He really just wants to nurse all the time though, which I don't mind. 

He is wearing 12 month clothes mostly. He has a few 9 month things that still fit and he has a few 12-18 month things that he wears. I love to put him in those romper outfits because they just seem so comfy and they are so convenient.

His eyes are very blue and his hair is growing in thicker everyday but it is so light you can hardly see it. He still loves his bath and diaper changes. 

We are so in love with this kid! I can't believe his is 1/2 a year old already. We are so lucky to be his parents. I love him so much!

This is just to make you laugh. While Link was sick and I was trying to clean the house I thought I would try to put him in the Baby Bjorn cause he didn't want to be put down. We haven't used it since our trip to San Diego (good thing we only got it at a garage sale for $8). I used to be able to do this when he was a newborn baby and it was more me not wanting to put him down back then. Well as you can see, it was a joke. After I jammed his thighs in I looked in the mirror and just laughed. He is like 1/3 my size! sometimes I can't believe he used to fit inside me!

Lincoln: Update

 

How cute is this kid! As you can probably tell he is at the doctor's office in this picture. I had my mom take him in on Tuesday while I was at work because he had been having an off and on fever since Sunday and he didn't really want to eat much. We originally thought it was just teething because it was just the fever and wasn't that big of a deal. He still was his happy self most of the time. I still do think he has started teething (though a ways away from cutting teeth). But he started coughing on Monday and by Tuesday morning I just thought maybe we better get him in. He is such a big kid that I have to remind myself he is still just 5 1/2 months old.  The doctor said he was awesome and was glad my mom had brought him in. He said that it seemed like he had Croup and have him an oral steroid to help his throat stay open so he could continue breathing well (more of a precaution). Wednesday was the worst I think, He was coughing a lot and it just sounded so yucky but he still was so good and happy. He wants to nurse ALLLLL the time again so that's good because I think he lost some weight on Sunday and Monday (when he got to the doctor he was 19 lb 1 oz). This is the first time he has actually been sick. I haven't gone to any extra appointments or even called the doctor with a question till now. Well he seems like he is 95% better now. He has been laughing and hardly coughing at all. He is such a good kid, I love him so much!
