So my BFF Marlena is doing a Conquer 25 list (read hers
here) and she is already having such a fun time doing it (see her posts
here and
here about some really awesome things she has already accomplished). I had pretty good success with my
summer to-do list (I did 7/8... not bad) and I thought, why not keep it going and make a Conquer 25 list as
well.
I turn 25 on September 25th (golden birthday. whaaat.) and its time to
learn a few new things about the world and about myself. Some things will be
big things and some things will be small things but they are all things that I
want to do to help me become the best version of myself. (and I might copy a
few from Marlena.)
I have now until September 25, 2014 to do all of the
following in no particular order:
1. Donate blood. (I'm counting donating to my new baby because i cant donate blood while pregnant)
2. Start up journaling again. (its a gratitude journal. i'm also currently staying up to date on 2 baby books)
3. Read The Book of Mormon. (because of book of Mormon 365 i've read nearly every day)
4. Eat healthy. (most days)
5. Run a mile in under 10 minutes without stopping.
(embarrassing to admit I never have)
6. Go to three new temples. (I've been to one (so far) Jordan River)
7. No R-rated movies.
8. Finish scrap-booking my life so far.
9. Make Lincolns birthday cake.
10. Try a few foods I have never tried.
11. Read a few books I already own that I haven't already
read.
12. Take my family to Disneyland.
13. Have a Star Wars movie marathon.
14. De-clutter.(packing for St Louis made this easy)
15. Throw a party. (I'm counting helping my family plan and throw Jenelle's wedding for this one)
16. Learn to cook something new. (i learned to make these really good ham and cheese pastries using Filo dough)
17. Learn about my camera and photo editing.
18. Take Chase somewhere he has never been. (i took Chase to see where i lived in Torrance and Palos Verdes)
19. Go somewhere with Chase neither of us have been. (St Louis, even though I'm not going until January)
20. Learn a new skill. (Marlena teach me the ways of chalk boarding)
21. Have a picnic. (I've actually done this quite a bit with Lincoln, it seems life revolves around meals)
22. Use what I already have/ Buy less.(St Louis helped with this too)
23. Save money.(money jar, people)
24. Pray more. (because of reading the BoM this has become more regular)
25. Support my Husband. (i think I've done this pretty well, the hard part has been doing it with a smile on my face, but i am finally looking forward to moving to Missouri)
...and one more life goal: to tell the people I love that I
love them.
In addition to this list, my goal is to make this my best year yet, and I have had some good years so far (graduating high school, a month in Europe, getting married, the birth of my son). This year I want to expect the unexpected, be spontaneous, live.
Please join in this journey! It doesn't really matter how old you are or where you are in life...just do it!
